Wow! This also means I can watch local BBC news in HD! 🎉
Interestingly local BBC news is in HD. Wasn't the local HD conversion not started yet?
In my case bbc South today is in HD. Its definitely HD and not upscaled.
Can someone enlighten me?
Regional news in HD has been rolled out on first Sky Glass and then Virgin Media, but delayed on other platforms.

This is the BBC announcement from when it launched on Sky Glass (but before the later postponement on DTT/DSAT etc)

Hi,
I have switched my box over to stream freeview channels through my broadband.
Everything works great and the picture is great.
The only problem I've got is I selected my region to Borders Norty West. I looked at the planner and at 6pm I put channel 3 on to watch ITV News Lookaround on expecting my local Border news in HD.
The item description says it is news from the borders, but I got Itv Lookaround Granada North West.
How come I didn't get the Border version ?
Thanks
@tweetSP0RT well must be rolled out to bt then as its definitely in HD. Unless we are secret Guineapigs.
Yeah it is I noticed it as well so I'm guessing being an IP based platform means it's was similar to rolling it out on Sky Glass and not affected by the issues delaying the roll out on other more traditional platforms.
Does turning over to internet channels keep your scheduled recordings if you choose the soft factory reset option?
A how to sincerely appreciated 👍
As always YouView have done a better job of explaining than BT 🙂

A factory reset is required in order to switch between aerial and Internet Mode channels. We would recommend a full factory reset however if you have recordings you'd like to keep, you can do a Maintenance Mode Option 2 and this will keep your recordings.
‘Please note that you will not be able to watch recordings acquired in Internet Mode if you switch the box back to aerial mode but you can watch recordings acquired through your aerial in Internet Mode.’
I'm happy (so far) with the ip option. As a fall back now we can only record 2 channels I'll reinstate my T3-R pvr for the 'aerial' channels. I presume you can still view a pre-recorded programme while recording 2 different channels?
