No skip key, no stop key

I've just been trying to get used to the wrinkles in the BT pro box. Is there no way to get round the lack of a Stop or Close key?

Am also really missing the skip key, holding down the FF key doesn't really compare

As someone who worked in product management in this industry, the downgrade in remote control features is boggling!

Re: No skip key, no stop key

I also found it disconcerting after using the previous BT TV Box remote for so long.

I still have that remote and it works fine on the Pro box, so I just use that all the time.
The new box is much more responsive and apps load in a very reasonable time.

Re: No skip key, no stop key

If you wish to stop and close and wish to use a different  app or function  on the box one  suggestion is to use the the home/YouView button on the remote to bring up the options and choose the new activity.

Re: No skip key, no stop key

Thanks.  But typical use is when stopping chase-play and going back to live TV, this seems almost impossible. One work around is to select the next channel (P+) and then go back (P-).

How is this kind of thing fed back so that it can be corrected in future designs?

Re: No skip key, no stop key

I believe it was fed back in June 2021 and we got the response

Press the back button multiple times, or press the YouView button or TV Guide button to select something else to watch.

Re: No skip key, no stop key

Thx. I guess that response means we're stuck with it.

The first solution doesn't work anyway. The second is a poor workaround. Rather like having to use the guide to change channels. I had Mrs Do P+ then P- last night, she was not impressed!!

Re: No skip key, no stop key

... And to be clear you have to somehow select something else to watch, you cannot now merely leave the 'pause' and go back to live TV on the same channel.

Re: No skip key, no stop key

I think therehave been at least  two changes to the box pro remote both of which may have been cosmetic changes to the Buttons.

The first was the search button microphone  symbol being removed and the second being the ER rebrand.
