Not recording HD channels when set to?

Hi.

Hopefully someone might have had the same problem.

Set the boxing on TNT sports to record in HD last night. Went to watch it and it recorded in SD. Has happened a few times now

Also lots of failed recordings for no reason. No clashes or anything.

I've got a box pro which is in normal mode ( not up mode) so should be able to record for programmes 2 IP and 2 normal. Still get failed recordings.

I've signed back up with BT TV after a break. Really wish I hadn't.  It's so far behind Sky.

Why is there so many problems with this service?

Missed or failed recordings on BT TV is typically because of an incorrect CRID, or other change to the EPG data (such as an overrun of live sport or late broadcast change), regardless of if the channel is delivered via an aerial or the internet.

Sky have a dedicated team who manage the EPG, adjusting the data as things change and as far as I am aware, no other UK platform does this.

The others all rely on the broadcaster sending and setting the correct details on the transmission for the box to pick up and action. When this doesn't work or isn't done correctly, they will just blame the broadcaster, which is technically correct but a bit slopey shoulder if you ask me.

I doubt this is going to change with PVRs starting to be phased out and replaced by catch up services with extra charges if you want to skip the ads.
