Pairing YouView Remote with LG 50QNED816RE TV

Hello,

I'm trying to pair the remote for my YouView DTR-T2100 box with my new LG 50QNED816RE TV, so that I can use the YouView remote to turn my TV on and off.

I'm following the instructions in the YouView user guide (photo attached), but I can't progress past step 4 in the picture. The TV doesn't turn back on when I press the "[symbol] TV" or the "OK" buttons on the YouView remote.

Might anyone be able to help?

Thanks!

There’s a mistake in the manual that omits a step.

Try the online instructions here:-

Re: Pairing YouView Remote with LG 50QNED816RE TV

@Midnight_Voice  Hello, thanks very much for the quick reply!

Sorry if I'm being thick, but I can't see an extra step in the version you linked to v. the version in the photo attachment. Step 4 in each version says that pressing "TV" again should turn the TV back on (then press the Vol buttons). But my problem is that the TV doesn't turn back on when I press "TV" again.

Might I be missing something?

Thanks!

Indeed so, but your 6-step paper instructions say to go back to step 3, not step 4. And the online instructions have 7 steps.

I’ve just reset the YouView remote for my DTR-T2110, and followed the online process, and it worked exactly, except that my LG OLED48C24LA has this funny two-step turn-off process, where the first press just gets you to relaxing piano music, and the second press actually turns it off, but the YouView remote handled that correctly.

My next suggestion would be to follow the instructions here:-

https://www.bt.com/help/tv/fix-a-problem/remote/my-remote-is-not-controlling-the-tv

They are the same steps as the online instructions I referred to above, but animated, so they are much clearer to follow in case of button confusion.

You might want to start with the AD/Delete SUB/BT Player reset (press all three together until the blue light flashes 3 or 4 times) in case the remote has some programming left over from before.

At the end, if still no go, there is a BT (or is it EE now?) number you can call, unless anybody else here in the Community has further suggestions.
