Re: Skysports UHD channels on my TV today

My thoughts

If it is an EE order  system problem preventing it being offered to EE customers

Can the product or at least the option to add the Ultra Boost subscription upgrade not be offered to BT customers if the mature BT order systems are working.

Re: Skysports UHD channels on my TV today

Personally I think Sky are not letting go of a USP.

But the billing thing holds water as when I first got BT tv back in 2016 you only had Sky movies, took literally years to get sport and entertainment.

Same with YouTube and Disney dosnt even exist in EE world.

Either way it makes a mockery of "coming soon"

wasnt this before they partnered with Now? As I’m sure you could only get Sky Sports Main event.

now they’ve partnered with NOW, you wouldn’t think it would take this long to implement.

Re: Skysports UHD channels on my TV today

There are cross party agreements between Sky and BT  so I see no evidence of any barriers to the NOW subscription addons being added to NOW customers billed by BT.

One of the mods said that Ultra Boost would never be available to BT customers, it would be for EE only....one of the reasons I migrated once the pricing was right.

@Colesy7 it used to be Sky Sports 1&2 and then Sky rebranded their channels. They had to create Main Event to meet legalisation requirements on the odd occasion there was an overlap of Premier League games...

Re: Skysports UHD channels on my TV today

I don’t believe that there has ever been an official announcement from EE/BT regarding the availability of Ultra Boost. If ever there was anything which told me that EETV is not a priority for them, it was when they announced that they were going to act as agents for Sky in order for Sky Stream to be made available to EE broadband customers only. Customers would pay an up front fee and would then have to pay a monthly fee which exceeded what they would have paid had they gone directly to Sky in the first instance. All to try and stem the flow of broadband customers to their competitors, by making it clear that they could go for Sky Stream if they preferred but didn’t need to move their broadband too.

I recall that Mr Dev ( recently back with us again) asked someone to make an announcement explaining what the situation was regarding Ultra Boost around this time last year, but we never got anything. I’m inclined to think that the EE ordering/billing system is at the root of the problem. If that is the case, Marc Allera has plenty to answer for with his so called vanity project of making EE the consumer brand. However, Mr Allera is no longer at EE/BT.

Personally the ability to record is far more important than Ultra Boost in relation to Sky Sports. The MNF is scheduled for four and a half hours and is never repeated in the schedules nor available in full via the NOW app on catch up. It invariably overruns too which necessitates recording the programme which follows also. I am then able to watch the analysis at my leisure, even though it does involve having to put up with the loathsome Carra.

Yeah this....

Sometimes I was able to skip back NOW 2hrs prior to the 1730 kick off and hope I got my daughter all tucked up in bed by 1915, then leg it back into the main living room and sit down before 1730 became 1930. But i'd have to leave the TV on the entire time to avoid the app crapping out, plus I was also paying for Big Sport AND a second separate NOW account to watch UHD via the app on ATV. Which was nice, where the 2hr trick wasnt feasible I'd just have the entire game recorded on the box. Its super dumb to pay for both though but UHD was so nice even if the Atmos is completely broken. I only did it last season because I thought that it would be coming to EETV at some point and it felt justifiable to bridge the gap but I wont do the same this season.

Is NOW not allowed to let you skip back or watch sport from the start to make sure it doesnt replace Sky customers all together....if you have Q you could record, not 100% sure what Stream allows you to do with live football?

I will remain patient, nothing I can do to effect it put at least writing this post passed 5 minutes, which is 5 minutes closer to a deadline.

Re: Skysports UHD channels on my TV today

@naylor2006 with Stream you can click the lil button on screen to watch from the beginning. This will take you back to the start of the broadcast either on a cloud recording or via the channels player such as iPlayer etc.

If you pay for ad skipping, you then happily fast forward to the start of the game etc.
