Sport TV Package without HD upgrade

I'm selecting the 'Sport' TV package when signing up as a new customer and I'm being offered an HD add on for a further £6 a month? It's not clear what you do and don't get in HD without that add on applied. Can anyone clarify for me please?

With the add-in, you'll get the Sports channels in HD (and TNT Sports in 4K if your line supports it).

Without the add-in, you'll get the Sports channels in SD.

For the Freeview channels, you'll get them in HD (where available), regardless of subscription package.

Just to add you will not get Sky sports in UHD if you subscribe to Sky sports through EEtv.

Plus frankly paying extra for HD in 2026 is criminal.
