Two boxes on same tv
My 4k BT TV box has an intermittent fault and a new EE TV box Pro is on its way as a replacement.
Is it possible to use both boxes together for a short time to watch the recordings on the old box, before I return it?

Re: Two boxes on same tv
I suspect that there will be problems / confusion if you keep the old box connected to the internet. I think the most you could do is watch any DTT/Freeview recordings on the old box while keeping it disconnected from the internet. Assuming you have it connected to a different HDMI input on the TV (or AV amp) for ease of switching between old and new.

Re: Two boxes on same tv
This is no more than the classic problem of using two YouView boxes side by side.
(Issue 1)
The Box Pro will still respond to the remote for the 4K box, though the converse is not true. To solve this, ensure that the Box Pro is out of line of sight from the 4K remote, or drape a black cloth over the IR sensor on the Box Pro. You should then be able to operate both without interference, and not even have to remove the black cloth to use the Box Pro.
(Issue 2)
Unless you have Multiroom, you won’t be able to use EETV on both boxes simultaneously. But it’s not a burden to keep switching which is the lead box.
The 4K and the Box Mini on my main TV came together and scratched their heads a bit over the issue, but couldn’t come up with anything else except that you can’t control them both with the EETV app on a single device.
