Weekend League 1/League 2 matches have dropped off the planner - system thinks they're Championship

As above really, a few days ago I set up the weekend's various live football on Sky Sports Football to record, the first domestic games of the season, with the third and fourth tiers taking centre stage before the others start. I've just looked at the box and to my horror the first one wasn't recording. On closer inspection of the planner, none of them are - the metadata thinks they're Championship, which has probably caused them to drop out of being correct.

Can we go a single week without this happening? It's pathetic. If I could turn back time I'd get a dish fitted (for a higher price as I live in a second-floor flat) instead of putting up with this ineptitude.

Re: Weekend League 1/League 2 matches have dropped off the planner - system thinks they're Champions

The EPG is terrible. There are live SPFL matches on Sky Sports Football channel this weekend. They are simply listed as SPFL greatest games on the EPG, so anyone looking to watch tomorrow’s live Scottish games on Sky would be oblivious from looking at the EPG. Although the Rangers match is listed correctly on Sky Sports Main Event tonight. Tomorrow’s Celtic match is listed on Main Event as Scottish Cup which Sky do not have the rights to. When it comes to the Super League ( rugby league) there have been frequent references to Leeds United and Wigan Athletic playing in that competition of late.

It'd be funny if it wasn't so infuriating. I suspect the EPG data is assembled on the cheap in a country where they've no idea what Rugby League or the Scottish Cup are.

Hi @Brucemeister5,

Thanks for pointing out these discrepancies, we are working through these and other issues mentioned here.

This SPLF issue has been highlighted to the relevant team and rectified.

It is our priority to resolve these ongoing issues and progress is being made. Unfortunately there may be some inaccuracies slipping through, while our metadata supplier works to migrate away from a legacy system that is impacting their work flow.

Please bare with us, once fully migrated the data will be reliable and added functionally may come alongside also.

Regards,

EPGWhizz

Re: Weekend League 1/League 2 matches have dropped off the planner - system thinks they're Champions

Well tonight’s EPG  schedules  have Leeds United playing live  rugby league on two Sky Sports Channels (Action and Plus).

There is also repeated confusion in the EPG for the Sky Sports F1 programming this evening  , confusing the Australian Grand Prix with the Austrian Grand Prix on several programs .

Also on Sky Sports Main Event the Hundred Woman’s  games  are in the EPG  described aa Live Test Cricket  , curiously the simulcast broadcasts on Sky Sports Cricket does correctly  describe them as Live Cricket.

I would have thought that these errors would be fairly obvious and resolved before broadcast day.
Clearly this is not occurring.

Manchester United are busy too. They’re playing away at Wolves tomorrow evening and are at home to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon according to the EPG.

... and Hull KR  turned up at wigan's ground   tonight and apparently had to play the 13 men of Wigan Warriors and the 11 men of Wigan Athletic at the same time according to the EPG.

Re: Weekend League 1/League 2 matches have dropped off the planner - system thinks they're Champions

This might all sound quite funny, but on a more serious level I can see that ALL THREE of Sky's Premier League games today and tomorrow have now dropped out of the planner. Had I not checked, that would have been a ruined weekend and no point in paying the considerable subscription fee to actually enjoy watching these games live or as-live. It's very rare for me to go through the planner on Sunday, add the next week's events that I'm interested in, and not have to later readd at least one of them after its dropped off due to metadata errors and changes like this. That's quite apart from how confusing it can be for new or casual fans of a sport. It's completely ruining the experience of being a subscriber.

Re: Weekend League 1/League 2 matches have dropped off the planner - system thinks they're Champions

I had the same thing happen to me. My scheduled recording of MNF had dropped off when I checked. However, I always record the programme which follows too as MNF invariably overruns, and that programme was still there. I like to record MNF so that I can watch the match live if I choose, and then watch the pre and post match analysis at my leisure.
