is there any way to delete or re-arrange apps on the BT TV box?
there is so much useless clutter from apps I don't use or want and we have to scroll through all this to find any app we do actually want.. is there any way to delete all this .. like BBC and all the other MSM garbage?

No
@PhilC42 It may be worth checking to see if the app that you want is in the 5 that are listed separately at the top of the home page when you switch your box on. These seem to vary from time to time. Otherwise you can click on the apps icon further down to reveal the apps in a complete table. This should mean that no app is more than 6 or 8 clicks away rather than the horizontal list that is displayed on the home page when you switch the box on.
Perhaps you would prefer a Sky QAnon box? 😛
The lack of customisation and personal choice is a long running trend on Youview devices and it suprising that EETV and before them BT TV haven't made much headway over the years. The Youview shareholders include the PSB (Public Sector Broadcasters) who have enshined the principle of PSB programming prominance throughout.
Every year, a group of YouView people used to sit down and agonise about what sequence the apps should be in.
They probably still do.
Me, I’d have given a junior programmer the fairly straightforward task of allowing box users to decide their own sequence.
Same as the EPG; think HD at 1-4 is something new? Here’s a screenshot from November 2015 :-
@Midnight_Voice as @zulu17 has said - it's about prominence. The broadcasters have control over what you see, and where. It's a jointly owned platform.
If they didn't have control, they'd remove their content.
Oh yes, you should have seen the astonishment, bewilderment and outrage when I did the above 😛
I thought it might not survive a power-down, but it did.
I think the loophole’s been closed now.
AAMOI, did you have to go cap in hand to YouView to sanction the channel order for IP Mode?
