Re: 550 spam, or phishing or malware

I'm getting a similar message: 550 spam, phishing or malware.  Do you think that disconnecting my Home Hub would actually solve the problem?  If I'm sending emails from my alternative gmail address it works fine, but not from my btinternet.com email address.  It works if I send email addresses to myself at the identical address, but doesn't work even when sending to my own gmail address.

I get the same problem with sending messages via BT webmail, as well as via Outlook, and I still get the same or a similar error message when sending emails from my Android phone.  Another complication is that around 5 weeks ago, I have changed my phone and broadband from BT itself to EE - so it's an EE home hub I have now.

I have spoken to a lady at ee.co.uk on the telephone, on Tuesday, but despite her putting my query to a specialist team, it's still not solved.  So I will be phoning EE again in the morning.

But, in the meantime, does anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks, David D.

Hi again, well I could try disconnecting my Hub for half an hour or so tomorrow, if it doesn't work by then.

Another thought is that my Norton antivirus had expired when I switched over to EE, so perhaps some malware has been introduced to my desktop computer (but that wouldn't explain btinternet emails not working from my phone either), so maybe I should activate it again...

Thanks for any help,

David D.

@Davidp42

As you are now an EE customer, you need to post on the EE forum https://community.ee.co.uk/

EE are a separate company within the BT Group.
