Re: BT Webmail Feedback

It works when properly designed and, as is the case now, doesn't work when screwed up by incompetent and inadequately supervised programmers

That of course is your choice.

As regards your statement about webmail being " absolutely essential,  particularly when traveling"  is nonsense. I travel abroad frequently and I use the email app on my phone and tablet without any issues and I have never had to resort to webmail.

I agree that webmail should work if it has been developed correctly but if you use an email client/app you do not have to hope that that is the case and you are not subject to the vagaries of an ISP changing things.

Re: Can't tell what is a read or unread email

Thanks - was aware of this but I'm frustrated by the fact that BT has made changes for the sake of them - I would just like to be able to look at my emails as soon as I open them and if they're 'bold' open if I want to.  Shouldn't really have to search.

Thank you though!

Re: BT Webmail Feedback

It is a bit much to say it's "nonsense". I use Thunderbird 99% of the time but last week abroad and whenever abroad I go on webmail as I don't have Thunderbird on my lap top (and cannot work on emails with documents attached on my mobile).

Why don't you have Thunderbird on your laptop?

I was saying it was nonsense to say webmail was "absolutely essential, particularly when travelling"  because it is not. It may be desirable for some people but it is not "absolutely essential" and particularly in your situation if you installed Thunderbird on your laptop.

Re: BT E Mail

Noticed a new problem with webmail (version MX_3.0.9.8) since about Tuesday 6 Feb 2024.

Text in received mail is not word-wrapped properly - words are split.

Using Chrome browser under Windows.

Email Changes

Due to recent changes I am finding the use of email not user friendly and slower in my opinion.

1. At one stage one could click address to check an incoming email address to see if the sender was genuine or "spamish" this is now not possible.

2. As other users have found it now takes numerous clicks to open an email, and then

3. the email does not open in a full page.

All very annoying.

Any answers BT or do I have to continue to use a poorer service / system.

Re: BT E Mail (Handles for Sliders are Invisible)

I wonder if I might add one more issue in the new BT email that I would like to see improved?

In an email, there is a vertical slider to the right of the text to enable you to move up and down the email quickly, which is useful especially for long emails. Unfortunately the "handle" to grip the slider is only visible when you hover your cursor over it, so I am spendin a lot of time just trying to find the handle.

The same issue applies to the vertical slider to the right of my list of folders.

It would be a big improvement if these slider handles were visible all the time, so I could move my cursor straight to them. This is the norm on most websites, e.g. ebay, and even on BT Community, so it does not seem a big ask for the BT email product, which seems to be out of step with industry interface norms in this matter.

Re: Email Changes

I have moved you onto this feedback thread.

Your comments have already been asked about and have most lkely aready been answered in this thread if you have a read through it.

As regards your first comment, if you hover the mouse just below the senders name it will show you what email address it originated from in the same way as the "old" email interface did. When you hover your mouse the pointer will change to a "hand pointing" when you hover over the viewable spot. This will not work if the name is an email address rather than a name.

If you want to view the full source of the email select the email with a signal click the box to the left of the email in the list. This will not open the email and you then go to "More" in the menu bar and then "View Source".
