BT login

Go to solution

I had need to change my password this morning which for some reason failed. Since then I have been locked out for 20 minutes three times and twice told Oops! something has gone wrong but no information as to what. Can anyone offer any suggestions how I get back in?

If the changing password failed it may have caused an issue with your "old" password and as a result it will not allow you to log in using it.

Try using the "new" password you used when trying to change the password. If that does not work try using the "Forgotten your login" link below the log on box and follow the prompts.

The “Oops” instead of a meaningful error message is annoying but, I suspect, deliberate.

Unfortunately, bad guys trying to break in can glean a lot from overly detailed error messages, so today there is a tendency to restrict the detail to the people who maintain the system.

I contacted the BT Chat (?) and was talked through the solution: an excellent service.
