Hi to the BT community. I’m using Outlook 2007 IMAP as my email program. Until last week with Outlook 2007 closed – My BT email deleted my deleted items. But for some odd reason it’s not deleted any deleted emails for a week. My inbox is now clogged up with over 550 emails. Has anyone got any ideas how to sort it out please?
Thanks,
Patricia W

If Outlook isn't moving deleted emails to the trash folder, it would appear that the problem lies with Outlook 2007.
Are mails deleted if you select Shift and Delete to delete them permanently rather than moving them to trash.
Hi again.
I've put the office disc in and repaired Outlook 2007. Also tried shift and delete - still the same.
I'm using Windows 10 pro build no 22H2
So what exactly happens?
Are you saying that when you delete a mail it is moved from the Inbox to Trash but when you close and reopen Outlook it reverts back to the Inbox?
It never gets deleted
Please answer the question asked. What EXACTLY happens.
You select an email for deletion, press delete, then what happens?
Nothing gets deleted from Outlook 2007. My email account is an IMAP account. Nothing gets deleted from the BT webmail page.
I select an email for deletion - Outlook 2007 just puts a line though it.
What happens if you try deleting an email in webmail?
Hi @PatriciaW
The support for Outlook 2007 ended on October 10 2017. It can no longer be trusted to do anything correctly and certainly no longer secure and you are open to serious and potentially harmful security risks. Perhaps time to upgrade?
