Senders of emails to me report that they get the message

"User unknown (in reply to RCPT TO command)"
I have been experiencing a truly appalling webmail service from BT for almost three weeks and Thunderbird has not been of assistance. But till now I could receive emails on my iPad and Android phone. Now BT are even preventing this. Is anyone in charge of BT email at the moment or is their email slowly disintegrating to the point of uselessness?
Hi @LondonJohn, please would you check and confirm that the email address you're trying to send to is correct? The User unknown error is usually associated with an email address that doesn't exist.
Cheers
John
The email address which is not receiving emails (from other people) via BT webmail is my own BT internet address. I receive emails to this address on my iPad and my Android phone, just not through BT webmail.
Hi @LondonJohn, sorry but just so I understand this, have you tried sending emails to your @btinternet email address from another email address and they are not showing on webmail but are received on the phone and iPad?
Are all emails showing on the iPad and Phone?
Are some of the emails or none of these showing on webmail?
Are any of the devices set up as POP3? BT Email server settings | BT Help
Cheers
John
Make sure that the "Conversation" View is not active. To do that log onto your BTMail account and click on "View" in the menu bar at the right hand side. Scroll down and Single click "conversation view" to toggle it on or off.
Thank you. One of the first things I checked a couple of weeks ago.
