New email: fonts and display

I don't think the new email format is a step forward, and have two particular problems:

- midway through composing an email, the font changes of its own accord, usually from Arial to Calibri;

- some emails received don't display properly: words straddle the end of lines, without hyphens (and I don't think they should straddle lines even with hyphens).

Can anyone help, please?

Re: New email: fonts and display

@N5runner Take a look at the BT Webmail Feedback thread.  You will see that these faults have been reported already and have been passed on to the BT email team.

There is nothing that can be done until the fixes are released.

But if you click on the Reply or Forward buttons in the email, you might find that the email gets displayed properly .and is easier to read. Don't forget to discard the reply rather than send it.

Edit: @licquorice just pipped me to the post.

Thanks to you PeterE17 and @licquorice .  I did look here, but searching for fonts didn't bring anything up.

Re: New email: fonts and display

I have similar problems, but although I know how to change fonts etc. myself BT is doing it for me! I type in say Comic Sans, but on sending it BT's system changes it to something like Edwardian - a tiny, very curly font which others find hard to read. Bradley IT would be better as it can be read easily enough, but the 'curly' font is hard to read.

Also the cursor jumps to the beginning of the email several times while composing.

Spam has increased by at least 10 fold and I continually get error messages saying they have a problem when I try and open emails, delete mails and spam. This morning it happened one after the other, perhaps six or seven times.

ANYBODY got any helpful ideas, please? Perhaps bring back the previous version of emails, at least it worked after a while, this one doesn't!

Thanks,

Grandma Swagg

Re: New email: fonts and display

The email system was changed some time ago and it isn't going back so you can rule that out as an option.

There are some work arounds as per this link

https://community.bt.com/t5/Email/BT-Webmail-Work-Arounds/td-p/2353424

other than that nothing will change until the next update when and if that ever happens sometime in the future which may be in the never timeline.

Until then try using an email client such as Thunderbird which has none of those issues.
