We have 3 email accounts, 1, with yahoo, 2 with gmail, 3 with BT. we are using Outlook 2019.
The first two use 2 factor authentication, however we are unable to add the BT account, the only way we can set it up is on a separate Profile. not very convenient.
Is it the case that only accounts that all have 2 factor authentication can be on the same Outlook Profile? If so does BT offer 2 factor authentication?
Note that Yahoo can only be setup with 2 factor authentication (unless it was installed prior to Yahoo introducing it, in which it still has to have 2 factor if you subsequently re-install)

BT do offer 2FA
Two-step authentication | BT Help
It should make no difference if 2FA is used or not when setting up Outlook.
When you are setting it up use the manual option rather than letting Outlook do it and make sure you are using the correct settings as per the following link.
BT confirmed to me today, that while they do have 2 factor authentication, it is non-functional on MS Outlook 2019 (or any MS Outlook app).
It also appears that BT email cannot be added to the same Outlook Profile as other (Gmail, Yahoo), Hotmail) 2 factor systems - it has to be a separate Profile. Not great.
Typically BT said that it is a Microsoft issue! Not true.....
I would (i) suggest that BT updates their 2 factor documentation to clarify the procedure/limitations (current documentation is out of date), (ii) liaise with Microsoft and other email standard setters, to bring their 2 factor authentication option in line with the majority of other email suppliers, after all the whole idea is to improve security! After all BT email volumes pale into insignificance compared to Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail worldwide!
