Scam email claiming to be from BT (but clearly isn't).

Just to make people aware in case they receive the same (or something very similar) so they DON'T click on any links contained in the email which I have received today with the following text:

We have attempted to contact your account multiple times through notifications and alerts, but we have not received a response from you.
As a result, you are no longer receiving automatic updates that safeguard against the latest cyber threats.
To secure your computer once again, please click the button below.

The email is NOT from a BT domain and is clearly a scam.

I've marked it as spam, blocked the domain from which it came (maidence.com), and forwarded it to phishing@bt.com and report@phishing.co.uk (Action Fraud).

i've been getting these for weeks.  I block them and report them but to no avail they keeping coming.  Meanwhile messages from Amazon are ending up in my junk folder!  Are the spam filters broken at BT?

I too have been getting these, each one more threatening than the last, now telling me my virus protection has ceased and I must renew it. Not true. obviously a scam but very irritating.
