I have been trying to securely upload documents, as requested by my solicitor's office, but cannot proceed as cannot get my email validated by their system. The solicitor office is no help. I have been using my @btinternet.com address throughout. It's a website, not an email address for the upload. Any suggestions?
I assume that your solicitor's email system has sent you an email that you must click on in order to validate your email address but you are not receiving the validation email from them. Is that correct?
If it is you should check your spam folder to see if the email is there. If it is there you should mark it as "not spam and add to safe senders list".
If it is not there and if you know the email address that it is being sent from you should manually add the email address to your "Safe Senders" list.
To do that log onto your BTMail account using a browser, not an email client/app, and then click on your username at the right hand side. Select "Settings" then go to the left hand side and select "Mail". Scroll down and click on "Safe Senders". and then add the address and click Save.
Thank you for your response. I was sent an email with a link to another site, from which I could not validate my btinternet.com address.
I had seen the suggestions on the forum already and I had tried to add the website address, so went back again and added the sender's email address but this did not help. What a tangle.
Why would the BT address not be recognised?
Your email address is obviously known and recognised by the solicitor due to the fact that you were sent the email with the link which would suggest to me that the problem and it resolution is with the solicitor's site not your BT email address. That is assuming it is a genuine link and that your antivirus/malware program is not blocking the link.
You will need to contact your solicitor and point out that the problem would appear to lie with their systems.
As a work around you could try setting up a Gmail address to see if that will work for you but this would require your solicitor to send the email with the link to that address.
Thank you. You are right. I have checked via the BT helpdesk and can't find anything wrong, so I assume the error or block is their end. I have told them this more than once, but I now don't accept that the fault is mine.
