Your auto-forward settings have been changed and other messages in the inbox.

Having just dealt with an issue in my uncles BT account where every week or so, we would get emails along the lines of "Hi how are you? Do you have a minute to help me?" from his actual email address (obviously spoofed) which when replied to resulted in a request for iTunes or amazon vouchers for a dying relative, from a similar Hotmail address I have another similar issue with my mother's BT email account.

In the case of my uncles account BT were unable to help him and I found that (somehow) all his emails where being auto forwarded to the similar Hotmail address so a reply could be sent requesting the vouchers.

Now, my mother has started to get warnings in her inbox as shown below

Checking the Auto-forward settings showed that the Auto-forward was OFF and Keep a copy in your inbox was ON and greyed out however there was an unknown Hotmail address in the Destination box (now removed)

Further to this the rules were (and still are) disabled.

I have tried Enabling Rules and then disabling them, Enabling Auto-Forward, Save, then Disable Auto-Forward but these popups continue.

Is this a common issue/bug or something to worry about?

The pop up is a security warning from BT to alert the user that forwarding has been changed or set up.

This is in case the change was made by some one other than the account holder.

The pop up can not be turned off other wise the person changing the settings could do it and the account holder would be unaware.

It will turn off automaticaly in a few days time.

You would think that BT would append the message with that information!!!
