The BT server keeps reloading old emails on start up. How to stop?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Are you using an email client/app to access your emails or a web browser?
Yes Outlook
It may be that when you check/open an email in Outlook it is not triggering that the email has been read. This could be caused by a corrupted file in Outlook.
Try using the repair option in Outlook and if that doesn't work you will most likely need to reinstall Outlook.

Thank you. I will give it a go!
If you do decide to reinstall Outlook if using an IMAP set up make sure that all the emails that you want are still on the BT servers by logging onto your email account using a browser.
If the email account is set up as a POP3 make sure you do a back up of your folders other wise the emails in the folders could be lost.
If it is corrupted it means a file is not working correctly so that file would need to be replaced with an uncorrupted file which can not be done by changing settings.
Edit: Have you changed any settings recently and since doing so was this when your problem started?
Hi,
I reinstalled Office and tghat did not solve the problem.
Had a look at Outlook accounts and it was a POP account. It would not be changed so I deleted and created a new account with an IMap designation and crossed my fingers.
It would seems to have worked.
000I guess the POP kept reading the IMAP inbox and downloading it as new stuff….who knows…well you most probably do…
Seems I was trying to solve the wrong problem.
Thanks again for the help.
