spam emails stop me from being able to report spam and BT's so called premium email

getting suddenly bombarded with annoying spams mostly claiming to be a bank or mcafee or AA or solar etc etc.

can spot its correctly spam and arrives in the spam folder.

but with each of these emails when I want to report them to said company as phishing, I get a message saying my phishing reported email was rejected because of dodgy content within the emails. so am no longer able to report a spam mcafee to mcafee etc.

also I had no idea BT appear to have 3 types of email, surprisingly 1 of which you have to pay a whopping £7.50 a month???? Well my question is, it is worth it?

because, when you got loads of annoying phone calls ie others pretending to be from BT calling about your computer etc I was told to pay a premium to BT to get these stopped but that did not do the trick.

so will paying BT £7.50 a month for a 'premium' email actually mean more can be done to block the spam?  right now I select an email block sender, block domain, delete. none of that makes any difference at all, I still get the emails daily like never before.

in the old days with good old outlook express there were loads of rules you could apply and they actually worked. But I cannot see any options for me to place rules with the BT email I have and if I paid the £7.50 could I then apply the rules and most importantly, would they actually work?

very reluctant to pay BT £7.50 a month/£90 a year unless you can tell me its actually worth it.

look forward to your comments, thanks so much

Re: spam emails stop me from being able to report spam and BT's so called premium email

Premium Mail is just the name given to the standard BT mail product for non BT broadband customers, there is nothing Premium about it.

It just allows the use of mail clients/apps rather than just webmail which Basic Mail provides.

Re: spam emails stop me from being able to report spam and BT's so called premium email

If the spam is being placed into the spam folder what is the problem?

It is a waste of time doing anything such as blocking with the stuff that is in the spam folder, they have already been identified as spam, that is why they are in the spam folder.

It allows you to check per chance any genuine email as been incorrectly marked. It is up to you to decide if they are not spam and remove them from the spam folder if you want and mark them as a safe sender. When spam is in the spam folder just delete your spam en masse.

Any that get into your Inbox, mark them as spam and delete them or block them if you wish. As per above, do not open them.

Eventually the spam filters will catch up.

If you want to set rules in BTMail log onto your email account and go to Settings found by clicking on your user name at the top right. Once there click on the "Mail" icon at the left hand column then go to "Rules".

@licquorice has answered your question about Premium email however here is a link about it.
