Adding external email for 2FA

Hi

Does anyone know how I can add a "second" email (i.e. independent of BT mail) for use with 2FA. In the contact details the "Your Email" field is blank and is locked when I click on the Edit contact details link as 2FA is enabled. If I try to go through the Edit two factor authentication settings then its a loop where only the telephone number can be changed. I phoned BT and asked them to add in a email address but it is still not showing on the page/worked.

Getting a huge number of Pin request texts so looks loke someone is trying to get into my account from the forgotten password link and with a four digit pin they may crack it, so want to get 2FA as strong as possible.

Thanks

Re: Adding external email for 2FA

You can not add 2FA to a non BT account using the BT 2FA. You would need to use the email suppliers system.

Re: Adding external email for 2FA

Sorry maybe I was not clear - I have BT mail and have 2FA enabled on it. For the 2FA process to work properly the email that the code get sent to should NOT be your BT email - it should be a separate email.

I cannot set this separate email address on the Account page.

Editing the 2FA only allows you to change the telephone number and not the email address - this is a big security gap and leaves me exposed, especially as its clear someone is trying to gain access.
