Auto-forwarding worked and then didn't work??

Hi,  Some very helpful people on this forum advised me on how to implement auto-forwarding from my BT email (I got this account with my BT broadband)... to my gmail.

I got a friend to send me a test email... and it worked. Autoforwarded in nano seconds.

Then I received an email from a company... and also several emails from this forum (saying people had replied to my other post) but none of these emails were forwarded to my gmail.

Got my friend to send me another test email... and it auto forwarded fine.

Am I doing something wrong... or does autoforwarding only work for emails from people that are in my BT email contacts list?

Just a quick update from me:  I'm wondering if forwarding doesn't work, when I've got my BT email account open on my laptop. As I've closed it down on my laptop now... and I've received another email from another company (but haven't received any of the ones that arrived from other companies or this forum - that weren't forwarded about 30 mins ago).  Bit confused.  Thank you.

Re: Auto-forwarding worked and then didn't work??

Ahhh.... just had a light-bulb moment.  Turns out the missing emails were caught in a spam filter at my gmail end.

Yes, I'm dumb for not checking the 'spam file'... I guess I just thought if the emails were good enough not to be regarded as spam at the BT end, they'd make it into my gmail inbox.  Bit of a schoolboy error on my part.  Sorry to have raised a non-issue.

Thanks again everyone.

Try making your BTMail email address a "Safe Sender."

To do that open Gmail and log in to your account. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."

Go to the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.

Click on "Create a new filter."  In the "From" field, enter the email address you want to add to the safe senders list.

Click "Create filter" at the bottom of the form.  Check the box next to "Never send it to Spam."

Click "Create filter" again to save your settings.
