BT ID password change - why does it change the BT Mail password also
Is this expected behaviour? When I select the 'Forgot log-in details' on the My BT login page, it gives me 2 options -
Do you want to log in to My BT or to BT Email?
We found a BT ID and a BT email account for ***@btinternet.com
Please choose an account to continue.
This is expected, but perhaps a bit of an edge case, the ***@btinternet.com mailbox is set up and managed in a completely separate BT ID that was set up many years ago - it uses a completely different (personal) email address to login. The ***@btinternet.com BT ID is a fairly new account, there are no email addresses managed within it. I hope that makes sense!
But when I reset the BT ID password, this also changed the mailbox password to the same new password, even though they are not technically linked. Why does it ask me to choose an account if it changes the password on both?

Welcome to the community.
I'm not sure on what is causing this, to be honest. I suggest speaking with our Email team so they can check on our side how your BT ID(s) and email account is set up.
