I am about to cancel my BT broadband package as I am moving and my new address does not have high speed BT broadband. I know that I can keep a "basic" email package or pay for the "premium" service. I have seen the info on the BT website explaining the different email packages (https://www.bt.com/help/email/bt-email-products). I understand that I can only access the basic service through the web interface, but it does not (explicitly) say if I will be able to redirect mail to a new account (outlook.com), that I can then access through my phone app (as opposed to the Web mail). I know I can redirect now via the Web interface, but will that facility still be there when I downgrade?
Any experience out there?

BT Basic email does not allow you to forward emails.
You may find that you can still forward them initially when downgraded to a BT Basic email account but the facility can be withdrawn at any time.
If you find that forwarding does work you must log onto the account directly during a rolling 90 day period to keep the account active.
