This problem has started for me today for the first time. There was a Firefox update shortly before but that might be coincidence. When I start entering an email address for sending, the possibilities ( with e.g. name(s) and email address(es)) appear in a box drawn presumably from Contacts, But when I click on the right choice the details disappear leaving a red box with the letters I have typed and an x for deletion. That is the same result as if you type in letters for a contact which does not exist.
I have checked Settings and the box for auto-filling contacts is ticked. I am using a Windows(11) laptop.
If I compose an email using on my wife's Ipad I the auto-filling works fine.
Much appreciate any help in solving this.
For info if it helps, I took the Firefox update on the 13th Jan and sent loads of emails successfully up until yesterday morning 16th Jan, noticed last night and this morning the problem began.
After using BT email for years, all of a sudden it has stopped autofilling email addresses in the 'to' box when composing new emails. I have to type the email addresses in full each time. This applies when using my Lenovo desktop with Firefox.
The autofill works when composing on iphone or ipad.
All the addresses are there in my contacts and I have checked that the autofill box is ticked. I have disabled and reticked the boxes but the problem persists
Any ideas welcomed please!
Welcome to the Community, @CHerrod.
We've had an existing thread around the same issues you've mentioned here, so I've merged your post into this wider thread.
From what I've seen it's just Firefox affected here, and our email team are aware and investigating further now 😊
Using an alternative browser should work in the short term, but rest assured we're looking into getting things working as they should be on Firefox as soon as we can.

Thank you - much appreciated

Auto address via Firefox still not working and very inconvenient - hopefully B T will fix soonest.
Have you considered binning off Firefox and using a different browser? I used Firefox for years and then I discovered Brave. I wouldn’t personally go back to Firefox, but if it’s what you’re used to, then it is what it is.
