I have blocked my own email - help!

Go to solution

Hello,

I sometimes email myself when I have info I need to remember and don't have any other way to keep it safe. I did this the other day and somehow managed to block my own email - I have no idea how I did this. All my messages in my sent folder confirm that I have blocked my own email address.

I looked in the list of blocked addresses but it doesn't come up. I tried to add it as a safe sender but a message came up saying you can't add your own email as a safe sender (but you can apparently block it???).

Can anyone help please?

Log onto your BTMail account using a browser, not an email client/app, and then click on your username at the right hand side. Select "Settings" then go to the left hand side and select "Mail". Scroll down and click on "Blocked Senders".

Scroll down the list until you find the one you want to unblock which may be your BTMail email address or the "@btinternet.com" domain and select it. Click on the small "Trash" symbol at the right hand side. It will only delete the email address from the blocked senders list not your contacts list.

Hello, thanks for getting in touch. As I said in my post, I already tried this and couldn't see my email in the blocked email list.

You never said that you had looked for the domain.

Don't just look for your email address, look for the @btinternet.com domain hence the reason in my first post I marked it in bold in order to bring your attention to that.

Hi there,

I found the btinternet.com listing in the block senders and deleted as advised, thanks! - but it's still showing every email as blocked in my sent folder in the app. Should I uninstall and reinstall the app on my phone?

TIA

Try logging out, wait a few minutes and login again. Does that help?

I had similar a few weeks back and it was resolved thanks to @gg30340
