Re: MY BT Email link

Hi there @Patsy2901

Thanks for coming to the community.

If you have not already, can you try and access the email account from the BT site,  and selecting email or email.bt.com. Does the same happen?

Leanne.

Re: MY BT Email link

Hi

Yes same thing happens when i try and log in via the BT site.... it times out.

Currently at another house using their wi-fi and i managed to log into my email direct from web page and also via the site

I cant help but think that my issue has something to do with my broadband when I can access on both my phone and laptop when using an others WIFI but not on mine.

I can log into my phone when using my  network data, and switching my wi-fi off

My iPad which is a kindle fire, i do seem to be able to access my email on it,

could it be my kindle is using another browser other than chrome  or edge ( as i have tried both these browsers on my laptop on my WIFI but still it times out.)

Might have to live with just doing my emails on my kindle or phone :-

Re: MY BT Email link

What company is your new broadband provider?

If you have not already tried it, turn off your router for abt 30 mins then turn it back on and try it again on your devices.

Re: MY BT Email link

Are you sure your Kindle is using your WiFi and not mobile data.

There seems to be a paradox that the Kindle works but nothing else at your home when using WiFi but the devices work elsewhere when using WiFi.

It does seem to point back to a problem with your ISP (if in fact the Kindle is using mobile data)

You could try changing your DNS on your laptop WiFi card to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to see if it is a DNS problem with your ISP.

Re: MY BT Email link

Can you clarify that you can log onto your BTMail account using a web browser on your Kindle at both your friends address and at your home using wifi?

Can you clarify that you can log onto your mobile phone using a web browser at your friends using wifi but not at your home using wifi but you can log on at both using 4/5g?

Can you clarify that you can logon to your BTMail account using a web browser on your laptop at your friends using wifi but you can not log on at your home using wifi.

Can you clarify that everything else when connected to your wifi works as it should?

Have you installed any software that 4th Utility supplied?

Do you have any antivirus installed that could be blocking your email connection?
