Hi
sorry its has taken me time to get back to you all.
My kindle only allows me to access and work on my emails whilst i am on the internet .
Really not sure what is going on, If i do change the DNS on my Wi-Fi card, will it only impact my laptop?
If yes it only impacts the device i am changing it on, then hopefully you can help otherwise i think i just have to live with doing my emails on my phone and kindle going forward
thanks in advance
This is all very odd. If your Kindle can receive emails whilst connected to your WiFi rather than mobile data, it isn't a DNS problem.
Are you sure your Kindle is connecting via your WiFi?
Changing DNS settings on your laptop will only affect your laptop, no other devices.
Hi
Yes if I turn the WiFi off on the kindle I can't send or receive emails but can access existing emails (if that makes sense)
If the DNS change only affects the laptop I'm willing to try it
But as I said I have 2 devices I can use to access and deal with emails so it's not major it's just annoying that it's happened after I changed my server provider
It's as if my laptop doesn't like something
If yoy could help me try changing the DNS as a last resort I would much appreciate it 🙂
I'm on holiday at the moment so can't give you step by step instructions without accessing a laptop.
But in a nutshell, if you select your WiFi adapter in Settings and navigate to IPv4 settings, change the DNS settings from 'get automatically' to manual settings of 8.8.8.8 primary and 4.4.4.4 secondary
Otherwise I'm sure someone else will be along to give step by step instructions.
Thankyou I'll give it a try and let you know
Have a good holiday
