My BT and Two Factor Authentication

Good Morning,

I'm looking to set up two factor authentication on my BT email address. I've looked up how to do this, however when I try and log into my BT with the details I use for my email it tells me they are incorrect. I presume that I need to create a new account for it.

My father originally set up my BT email for me and I can use his details to log into his My BT. My thinking being that if his BT account is the host account for our two emails, then I would need to set up two factor through that, although when I have looked at activating Two factor through his My BT account it doesn't list my email as one to choose from.  Would I need to create my own BT ID?

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Re: My BT and Two Factor Authentication

You would be better to get your father to "gift" the email address to you then you would set up your own BTID and MyBT where you will be able to manage it without using your father's account.

See link and sub links.

Re: My BT and Two Factor Authentication

Thanks for that. Am I right in saying that BT is gradually winding down it's email services?

Re: My BT and Two Factor Authentication

yes in the sense that no new broadband customers can create a BT email address
