I have reported this to the Government site, the EE phishing@ee.co.uk, & on the telephone to EE & thought it a good idea to add it on the Community page :
I received an email supposedly from EE starting YOU HAVE A NEW UPGRADE.
We are disconnecting your outdated Mailbox accounts as of August 25th 2025 (this email was received on the 30th !)
Please CLICK HERE to confirm that your email address is still active
Do not reply directly to this email as you won't get a response
Thanks @ 2025 All Rights Reserved British Telecommunication
Obviously we are always told NEVER to Click Here if its suspect ! On checking the actual place is came from it is <*********> the Subject Heading is the usual ' Green Tick From EE Connect'
Just be aware - EE have confirmed it is NOT from them
[mod edit: scam email address removed from the community]
Hi @Mum2Emma
Thank you for bringing this to the attention of Community Forum. We appreciate these reports so that we can keep our customer protected as much as possible.
If you've received something that seems a bit suspicious, don't worry. Receiving a suspicious text, email or voice call will not harm you in any way – harm can only come if you interact with it.
Remember: - don’t click on links unless you’re 100% sure they are genuine - take a moment to stop and think and trust your instincts. If it looks too good to be true or looks suspicious, there’s probably a catch - don’t give away any of your personal details or give anyone access to your computer – if you think you might have provided your bank account details, contact your bank immediately
You've taken the right steps by forwarding any phishing emails. If you have received the email to your BT email, please forward it to phishing@bt.com, So that we can raise a report and have this investigated.
It's great you've also forwarded the message to report@phishing.gov.uk too
The UK's National Cyber Security Team will then analyse it and, if it is identified as suspicious, attempt to take them down permanently.
You can delete the email now you have reported them.
Please continue to make others aware of these types of messages, so they are also in the know.
