I have recently cancelled my broadband but want to keep my email address but cannot access Premium Email upgrade as my account is marked as inactive, please help.

If and when BT sed you an email regarding BT Premium email the link only becomes active once you have left.
You could use this link about BT Premium email and call the number given.
