What are you doing to identify the actual email domain because what you have shown as a screen print is not the best way to do it.

You need to view the headers of the email not just hover your mouse over the name that is showing.

To do that you need to tick the box to the left of the email title in the email list then go to "More" in the menu bar then select "View Source". Then look down the page that opens until you find the spammers domain which you then block by adding it to your "Block Senders" list manually.

@gg30340 , thanks. Got as far as Block Senders. I don’t want to block individual email addresses, I want to block the domain. Is that possible?

They use a different email address every time with the same domain so blocking that will stop a lot more coming through.

You can block a domain by logging onto your BTMail account using a browser, not an email client/app, and then click on your username at the right hand side. Select "Settings" then go to the left hand side and select "Mail". Scroll down and click on "Blocked Senders".

When the Blocked Senders list opens enter the domain ie bloggs.com into the Email box then click save.

Agreed. Once on a spam list always on a spam list.

It's like pushing water uphill trying to stop spam once the spammers have found your email address to be an active one which is easily done if spam email has been opened.

I’ve only accidentally replied to what I thought was a genuine email a few years ago. Providing it goes in my spam folder I can deal with it. There’s no such thing as a spam-free account.

Actually, there literally is such a thing as a spam free account if you're prepared to pay for it. I pay my £33 a year to a Swiss email provider and I get literally zero spam. I've had one spam email this year, I blocked it, reported it and it's never been seen again. Then again, and I promise I'm not perfect, but I read every email I get very carefully and I check every header on every email I receive. I learned the hard way from a constantly spammed Outlook email account. Never going there again.

You do not need to reply to an email for a spammer to know it is active. If you have image loading automatically turned on the spammer can tell that the mage has been viewed by you simply opening the email.

Remote images in emails can track whether and who views a message. When opened, the email program fetches the image from the sender’s server, logging the recipient’s email or other details. Spammers misuse this to verify active addresses. Block images from unknown senders for privacy or at the very least do not open them especially if they are in your spam folder. Just delete them.

BT were blocking images in email accounts by default but because of the number of complaints that images would not load, the default loading of images was changed to the default being off. It can be turned on by the account holder in the settings.
