I would greatly appreciate some assistance please.
I have been unable to send emails from my talk21 email account today via my iphone.
I located - in my “junk” folder - an email “From :- BTInternet.SupportTeam” (and when expanding this i see that it is from “no-reply@cfbisd.edu”) who informed me:-
“We have tried to reach your account several times with notifications and alerts, but we did not receive a response from you.

If you have not renewed your membership within 48 hours, your account will be closed.

BT INTERNET Support Team”
i don’t know if this is a “genuine email from BT” (i think not) but i can receive emails into my talk21 account (for now) but i am unable to send any outward messages; which coincides with the heading details from the aforementioned email as follows:-
“BT INTERNET- Subscription
Termination Notice
Your Subscription has Closed at 11-04-2025.
[ Final Warning ]”
I doNOT have any subscriptions with BT; i doNOT have BT broadband or any other services from BT.
I have had my Talk21.com email account since it was first launched many; many; years ago.
Is the above email from “BTInternet.SupportTeam” genuine?
Is there somewhere i can send it to at BT for them to investigate - is someone “phishing” me?
Any suggestions as to what i need to do to send emails from my Talk21.com account on my iphone?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

i just used forum search facility and numerous posts about this and how to solve it here is one

Of course it isn't a genuine email.
Thanks for your reply.
Any suggestions who at BT i can report this too?
seems a bit of a coincidence that i am unable to send emails from Talk21 via my iphone though!
Thanks for your reply.
what i did was to change my p/w on the “BT.com/email” browser.
in the browser i can both receive and send emails.
However, i am still unable to send emails from my Talk21 email account on my iphone (i did change the p/w) and can still receive emails.
any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Might be a drastic suggestion, but have you considered changing your email provider? Didn’t BT effectively do away with Talk21 email back in 2013?….
As you are no longer a BT customer, your account will have been downgraded to Basic Mail which is only accessible via a web browser.
BT are often slow in implementing this change and changing passwords sometimes triggers the move.
Well, correct me if I’m wrong, but BT didn’t “do away with Talk21 in 2013” as i was still using it up until two days ago in 2025 on my iphone.
If BT don’t want to maintain Talk21 accounts perhaps they should email/ text users and let us know what options we have available as an alternative. I don’t recall receiving anything from them telling me of any proposed closure.
i am aware that i could change provider but why should i - it is my main email account and has been since about 2004. There would be an additional problem in updating ALL services i have used with my Talk21 email address to my “new” email address.
My underlying issue has not been resolved- i still can’t send outward messages from Talk21 email from my iphone. But i can do so from the BT.com/email web browser now.
And the “spam” email i received from BTInternet.Support Team - who at BT should i send it too?
Is it just a coincidence that i have problems on the day i received that message?

BT did not stop the Talk 21 email service nor have they indicated that they are going to.
What they did do some time ago was to change the email address format to (username).t21@btinternet.com so that it is associated with BT.
If you have not already tried that format try it now.
Have you checked via your MyBT if you have one that your email account is showing as a Standard account and not a Basic account?
As regards your "spam" email are you sure it came from BT?
Did you respond to it in any way?
