Text is no longer wrapping

Go to solution

In email settings I have set to compose in Rich Text Format, but when I compose an email the text no longer wraps. What have I done to change this and what can I do to set it back to how it used to be?

Log onto your BTMail account using a browser, not an email client/app, and then click on your username at the right hand side. Select "Settings" then go to the left hand side and select "Mail".

A new page will open and you should see the option to set or unset compose emails in rich text.

@deejay44

Try switching "Compose Messages in Rich Text" off and log out to see if it wraps again.

Then try switch the setting back on.

Are you using a mobile device or a PC or Laptop?

Has this just started since any updates to your device?

If a mobile device try changing the settings to "View Desktop Site" to see if that resolve the wrapping.

If using a web browser to use your BTMail which browser are you using?

If using a web browser as well as what Ali_A has suggested, have you tried clearing your web browser's history and cookies? When you do that make sure that you select the option "Clear All Time" if your browser offers that option.

Thank you for your suggestions. I am using a desktop with Google Chrome as the browser. And have always  set settings to use rich text format

But coming back to the task today, after the weekend, it seems I can now compose new text without the problem of not wrapping, but if I copy and paste the previous, corrupted, text the unwrapped text is still unwrapped.

Looking back carefully at my original document, I can see that half of it is OK, but from where I inserted  text cut and pasted from an external website, the unwrapping started, so the formatting of what was posted could  have been imported too.

If that is what has happened it is a lesson in being careful with what is pasted in.
