@WSH , yes, it’s out of support but it’s an email program, nothing more. I use MailwasherPro to view my inbox and mark spam so it gets deleted and not downloaded.

I have 100% faith in Outlook 2010 just as much as Excel 2010 and Access 2010.

@RayP  I’m not being patronising or disrespectful, but your faith in Outlook 2010 is misplaced. Just do an internet search about whether or not it is safe to use. There are many reasons why you shouldn’t continue to use it. But, it’s your choice entirely, however as your email has seemingly been compromised, that should raise enough security flags.

I too am perfectly happy using Outlook 2010 along with Excel 2010 and Word 2010.

@licquorice , I'm glad I'm not alone. Current versions of Office are all rental, not outright purchases. It's a theme used by companies like Adobe to extract as much money as possible from us users.

Most of my email is through my iPad. I don't use Outlook much these days. Where it is useful is searching for information from years ago. And because everything is stored locally I don't need the 1Tb of space on the cloud I would be paying for with a current version.

If I was a business with multiple people each with their own installation then yes, it makes sense to invest in current software. It can be offset against tax as well!

I would like to correct you on one point, personal copies of MS Office are available for outright purchase if you look for it, though I guessed from your response, you’ve no intention of purchasing. I have MS Office 2024 on my PC and Office 2021 on my laptop, no rental involved and all up to date with the latest security updates. I did a free month trial for Office365 but cancelled it at the end of the trial as I’m certainly not paying £119 a year for it.

A quick search reveals very attractive prices for Office Pro 2024. Just £30. Is this the type of package you use?

Link removed. I acquired a copy of Office 2010 via my employer back then that could be used at home. Probably a ruse to get us to learn it in our own time. 🤣

If you do decide that Outlook is no longer safe for you to use have you considered the free email client Thunderbird which is developed by Mozilla who also develop the Firefox web browser.

Thunderbird is updated on a regular basis and is in my opinion an excellent product. I have been using it for many years and have had no issues with it during that time.
