@gg30340 @It has to be Outlook as it’s vital I can import my 2010 messages.

i still consider Outlook 2010 to be safe but Excel will have more advanced charts which is attractive.

Apparently you can import Outlook into Thunderbird. I have never done it so can not comment how it is done but an Internet search or a search through the Thunderbird help section should tell you how to do it if you are interested.

An alternative is as you have all your emails downloaded to Outlook you could take Outlook off line and just use it for storage and access to the "old" emails and use T'bird as your new email client.

@gg30340 , that’s not something I’d contemplate.

I’m not sure where you are getting you figures from.

I was in a similar boat.  Having been an MCT, I had 5 licenses for Office 2019 when I retired but, of course, that’s now out of support and I updated to M365 in October.

On Microsoft’s own site, M365 Personal is £85, not £119, and as it is good for 5 devices, it worked out cheaper over 5 years than buying 5 separate licenses for Office 2024.

Of course, if you only want the one copy then perhaps Office 2024 will be cheaper.

@WSH , only one installation required. The site I looked at was based in Netherlands. Prices looked suspiciously low. A British one has Office 2024 for £46+VAT. That’s the likely one.

@WSH  It was I that quoted the £119 figure and I’d confused it with MS365. The £119 figure came from what I’d seen on Amazon for MSO 2024 when I had last looked at it. Clearly, if you know where to look for MSO2024, you can purchase it for a ‘different’ price, but then that applies to a lot of products if you are prepared to look for them.

@Kimberlin   Yes, that was the figure I saw, so…

4 licenses O2024 x £119 = £476   or   5 years x £85 M365 = £425

Of course, M365 will go up but I’ve got more than on MS id, so, if necessary, I’ll just take out a new subscription as a new customer.  (Bit like juggling ISPs really).

@RayP   Yes, that would clearly be better for you.  I've got a nasty feeling 2024 will be last stand-alone version though.

@WSH  Undoubtedly MSO 2024 will be the last standalone version. Probably why if one looks not even hard enough, you can find individual licences for about the price of a full English and 3 pints of ale at a famous pub chain.

@TimCurtis ,if they’re the company based in the Netherlands their prices are concerningly cheap. I want a licence that allows a further installation should a SSD fail.

Regarding my original post there have been no further instances of email breaches.
