Glad you got it sorted - at last!
But it does illustrate BT's ill-thought through transition arrangements for their customers that they "persuade" to migrate to EE, and the lack of training of their telephone agents who, nevertheless, are on commission to get customers moved to EE.
I thought CEO Allison Kirkby had decided not to force customers into moving to EE and had dropped the previous plan to make BT only for business customers. However, this doesn't seem to have got through to any of BT's staff.

@NickBS As this was last edited in Jan 2025 is this still the case? Expecting full fibre to be available soon, local installation ongoing and starting to consider my options as BT contract expires July 2026. As I've had BT email for many years would rather not lose it and risk missing updating current linked accounts.
