What happens to my email if I leave BT?

Hello, I am thinking of moving to another provider when my contract ends in November but what will happen to my @btinternet.com email account  ?   Some relatives of mine moved to Talk Talk and their email continues as before and they are not paying anything.

If you leave BT Broadband your BTMail email account will be downgraded to the free BTMail Basic which can only be used on a web browser and not email clients or email apps.

Your relatives email account will also be downgraded to BTMail Basic if it has not already been done.

If you "migrate" to EE you will be able to maintain your BTMail as a Standard email account as it is now with no fee.

Is it the same with Plusnet?   I believe that this is just another BT brand.

No. It only applies if you move to EE.

If you move to Plusnet you will keep your email account but it will be downgraded to BTMail Basic which can only be used with a web browser and not with email clients or email app.
