Re: recovery email

No one including the moderators on this forum have access to customer accounts so will not be able to reset your password.

When you set up your BTID and MyBT in the "Your Profile" section of MyBT there is a section "Contact Details" which states :" This is the email address and mobile number we will use to send recovery details to if something goes wrong. The email address used must be different to your BT ID username".

There are then two boxes, one for the email address which should obviously not be your BT email address. You can use any email address you choose. The next section is for a phone number of your choice.

As this would appear not to have been set up and if you have tried the "Forgotten Password" route and it has not worked the only other way you can get back into your account will be to call BT and ask them to reset your password.

They will want to send a PIN number to you to confirm it is you and they will use the phone number that they have on record for you. If you no longer have that phone then the PIN can be sent to your home address via snail mail that is on record.

They will not send the PIN to another email address. If they do the Customer Service agent should be sacked.

Re: recovery email

The phone PIN can be sent while you are on the phone to BT. The PIN to your home will take as long as it takes the Royal Mail to deliver it once it has been sent out.
