two-step authentication- Does it ever stop?

Go to solution

Ok - Just had the internet upgraded to full fibre this morning, now we have two-step authentication turned on. Didn't do it - it just happened.  I know there are issues - but my question does it ever stop once you have used it for a few weeks? At the moment I log on check emails, ten minutes later my wife checks her email at which time it asked for the two-step authentication, ten minutes later I check mine, same thong - its asks for two-step authentication. We share the computer hence the question - will it ever stop asking?

Apparently it will eventually stop on your device after an undisclosed amount of use and time at which point your device will be recognised as a "trusted" device and no longer require the 2FA PIN.

I have no idea how BT determine when this will happen but it may include the use of a cookie so you may find that if or when you clear your cookies it starts the process again.

Ok thanks. Just a pain as we share the mobile which is used for the code.

Seems as if it stops after a couple of days.

Thanks for the help.
