Analogue wiring

Go to solution

Having been moved to VOIP, my  bell for my electric gates no longer rings the house phone. I have been told a new board for the gate controller will £1000 + £8pcm for a SIM card.

I just wondered as all the wiring is still in place could I just connect a ringer to 1 or 2 of the now defunct sockets/ or is there a way of adapting the cabling. Presumably I might need to  isolate the router connection and reestablish 5 volts to the old circuit.

or ???

TIA
