Announced calls

My phone has begun to make some calls 'announced'. I had nothing to do with it, and I don't want it. How can I stop it?

Re: Announced calls

are you a BT broadband customer and if so are you on digital voice? which type/make of phone are you using?  this more likely to be a setting on your phone have you checked the manual?

Re: Announced calls

Thanks for the reply.

No I'm not a BT Broadband customer, but I use a BT phone for the landline. I've scoured the settings for anything which mentions announced calls, with no luck. Any ideas?

Re: Announced calls

I'm surprised to see that there is an accepted solution to my problem, as I haven't solved it. Read the manual doesn't do it for me. I'll look elsewhere.

Re: Announced calls

What company provide your telephone service , you say you are not a BT broadband customer , are you a BT customer for telephony or it’s just you happen to use a BT branded telephone instrument, and could just as easily have a Panasonic or other make of phone , so the only connection to BT is a BT branded handset ?
If it’s just a BT branded phone , the user manual is available on line and there are various 0800 type numbers for help using the product.
