My new phone (BT premium) bleeps twice every hour. What is it, how do I stop it. The base still does it even when the phone is off the base.

Almost certainly message or text alerts. Open the manual here, press Ctrl+F to bring up a search box & search for "alert", without the quote. There appear to be several references.
