BT7610 how to re-instate a recorded message for the answer phone

Go to solution

Hi all,

We recently got our phone upgraded to use the Digital Voice service and as a result, the bespoke answer message that was recorded has now been reverted to the pre-recorded BT voice. The thing is, I can still play back the old message, but I can't seem to re-instate it as the active message that plays when someone calls and we don't answer. Since it was recorded by my late father I would really like to get this back and set up as the answer voice.

Can anyone help point me in the right direction to get it set up again? I don't want to fiddle too much as I'm scared I may accidentally delete the message forever.

Thanks in advance
Michael

I suspect that 1571 (enabled by default on DV) is answering rather than your answering machine.

Simply set the number of rings to maximum on 1571 via MyBT and fewer on your answering machine so that it cuts in before 1571 does.

Ah I didn't realise it was as simple as that! I was wondering since I'd set the rings on the handset but nothing seemed to have changed! Thank you!
