Re: Caller Display

I have not been able to get to that page. Under 'Landline features' I get a box entitled  'Privacy at Home - Caller Display', but when I click 'Manage' I get a list of 'Calling Features' that I can switch on or off, as appropriate, but it does not include 'Caller Display', even though I clicked a 'Caller Display' box to get there!

Re: Caller Display

@WJLong

Seems a bit odd that its not on that page, as I would have expected it to show there, but already enabled. You would then unselect that option and progress the order. Then to the reverse the following day.

When you move to BT Digital Voice, the options are handled differently and take affect right away.

Not really sure what to suggest, as the forum moderators, who used to be able to sort this out, are no longer here, and the new moderators do not have account access.

Re: Caller Display

I am in the process of reporting it to BT again, and this time it has been logged as a  Complaint, so we shall see if that makes any difference! Thanks for your trouble.

Re: Caller Display

The exchange needs to see a change of state, disabling then enabling.  That has always worked in the past. It think it used to be the CSS (Customer Services System) database which forwarded any change, but that is probably a legacy system that nobody has direct access to any more. There is probably a new fancy front end, as CSS was not very user friendly.

Re: Caller Display

The person at BT said he had been able to fix it remotely, and it should work in 2 - 4 hours. We shall see!
