TL:DR the instruction leaflet sent with the "Home Phone Adapter" needs a re-write.
The longer version:
Got switched to Digital Voice earlier in the week. Unable to use it without a DV adapter as router not in same place as telephone. Took multiple attempts to get someone to send me a DV Adapter.
DV Adapter arrived today. Instructions say "if you changed you base PIN on your Smart Hub from the default 000..."
But there's no PIN anywhere in the Smart Hub 2 admin page. And people have asked about this a few times in this community - with no solution found. The nearest I can see to a solution is a discussion of a BT Hub Base - i.e. a DECT system base unit. So, nothing to do with a Smart Hub. The leaflet needs to be re-written to save customers hours of fruitless searching.

I am presuming the instructions you are referencing are paper ones which come with the adapter? says if you have changed your base pin, I would read that to say if you have changed it you need to do something different, as you didn't know what it was referencing I would have just ignored it and carried on as you didn't change anything.
