DV Handsets

Go to solution

In a few days I will be upgraded to full fibre and DV, and in readiness for that I have received two DV handsets.

Obviously the handsets will not work until DV has been activated. However, my question is whether, in advance of that date, I could pair the handsets with the SmartHub (which I have had for some time) and start entering phone numbers into the handsets.

Re: DV Handsets

you can try pairing the handsets but I would hold off entering contacts just in case hub needs factory resets to get DV working which deletes all contacts.  once you enter contacts then back them up just in case reset required in future

PS  I thought BT had stopped giving free DV handsets just adapter

Thank you for that advice. I think that I will simply hold off for a few days in the circumstances.

You are right - no free handsets, they were paid for.

If bought from BT/EE the price of the Advanced and Essential handsets are slightly discounted and I believe I've seen them called something else too in the past week somewhere.  By all means connect them to the mains so that they are fully charged for when your DV service does go live.
