Digital Voice migration when Voice=BT, ADSL Broadband=other provider? i.e. LLU

Our current set up is:

  • (Analogue) Voice from BT
  • ADSL Broadband from another non-BT provider

i.e. I think it's Local Loop Unbundling (LLU).

From this think broadband article , under "Some of the exceptions around Digital Voice/Internet Calls":

If have voice via BT with broadband via another provider then as BT does not have suitable hardware as yet they will not switch you.

Is this (still) true?

And does the latest news about SOTAP for Analogue have any bearing on this? (Is it even compatible with existing LLU, it sounds like it's a variation on LLU under the hood?)

My current preferences are:

  • To stay on Analogue as long as possible
  • To be maximally power cut resilient (it sounds like SOTAP for Analogue does this?)
  • To manage any transitions/reductions in resilence at our pace as we have vulnerable people in this household

Thanks!
