Good Afternoon,
I understand during a powercut you can't dial 999 using digital voice but, thats not what I'm asking.
When you call 999 from a fixed PSTN line your address is traced due to the number being attached to your adress physically. On digital voice can 999 operators see you adress and/or trace your call to your adress just like on the old PSTN?
I've purched some cordless handsets for the first time (yes, I know how antiquated) and my partner whinged on that its more devices to power and I'm wanting to know how much energy do cordless handsets use? I've purchased are BT 2700 Twin with answer machine (yes, I know I'll have to call BT and ask them to remove Voicemail so my own machine records).
Thanks!
Your phone number can still be traced to your address with DV.
You don't need to move to cordless phones if you don't wish to.
You just need to set the number of rings to maximum on 1571 and fewer on your answering machine to ensure it answers first.
No idea about power consumption, it will be minimal.
Thank you for your reply! 👍
